A Jewel Tone Christmas – My Stunning 2025 Christmas Home Tour

Season’s Greetings Everyone!
It’s that time of year again, and I am thrilled to share my 2025 Christmas Home Tour with you—this year built entirely around my take on the theme of a jewel tone Christmas decor.
For the last three or four years, I’ve had this idea to create a jewel tone Christmas theme festering in my head, but I couldn’t settle on the exact colors I wanted—or even on what my interpretation of jewel tone Christmas decor really was.
So often, when I searched for inspiration, the images leaned toward peacock or loud carnival-esque colors. Beautiful on their own, but not what I had in mind. So I searched… and searched… and then I remembered a Vickerman catalog I received in the mail a few years ago.

Some of the ribbed ornaments in that catalog reminded me of a few I owned and really loved. The photo wasn’t technically jewel tone Christmas decor, and it wasn’t quite what I wanted, but it was the spark that got all the ideas flowing.
I loved the mix of colors and textures and thought that if I could tweak that palette, I’d end up with something bright, elegant, and cohesive—A Jewel Tone Christmas.
Long before Pinterest or the internet, my parents bought us a set of encyclopedias. One day, on my own, I decided I wanted to learn everything about gemstones. Nearly all the volumes ended up in my room as I read and learned simply because I wanted to know.
Eons later, I worked at a jewelry store—first in sales, then in marketing—those colors came back to me. Suddenly, the palette in that Vickerman catalog transformed into gemstone shades:

- Purples became amethyst
- Reds and burgundies became rubies
- Blues became sapphires
- Teals became alexandrite
- Greens became jade and emerald
- Soft pink became pink tourmaline (I wanted something extra bright to add a little pop)
And bam—I had my jewel tone Christmas color palette: Purple, Navy, Burgundy, Emerald, Teal, and Cerise, all accented with gold.
That is A LOT of color, and I knew it would be challenging to pull off—but I figured if I could tie everything together with a single bow—literally, the rest would fall into place. So, one summer afternoon, I sat down, made about thirty bows in my A Jewel Tone Christmas theme, and it all began…

The first-floor public areas were decided—but we also chose to redo our bedroom, and I knew a jewel tone Christmas theme would not work there. I wanted something soft and luxurious there. Stay tuned for that. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed pulling it all together. Take a look and see what unfolded…

The Living Room

The Tree

When I decided to use bows to tie the color scheme together, I knew that I wanted one as my tree topper. I used a mammoth bow at the top of the tree to anchor the entire jewel tone Christmas decor palette. I focused on a Purple, Navy, Burgundy, Emerald, and Cerise velvet ribbon with a gold trim.
All of the colors appear throughout the floral picks and ornaments. The ribbed cerise and purple ornaments, I got from Vickerman, but I wanted them to feel more luxe and dimensional, so I added a touch of fine gold glitter into the deeper grooves. I also added that same gold trim to all the floral picks on the tree. That little detail completely transformed them.
Gold also comes through in the crabapple picks, and jade appears in the light-sage leafy picks I used everywhere—on the tree, garlands, swags, and wreaths.
To keep everything elegant, I incorporated my crystal Lenox Color Gem ornaments—ruby, sapphire, and emerald. Not only perfect in name but perfect for this year’s theme: A Jewel Tone Christmas.
Throw pillows in the same color palette tie the window seat and sofa into the design and complete the space.

The Fireplace

The fireplace this year is anything but understated—yet still elegant. I brought back my icicle garland and added finial ornaments to complement the lines of the icicles. Sage leaves add softness and dimension, creating a backdrop for velvet bows and jumbo gemstone ornaments. Pinecones (a must for me!) add warmth. Gold deco mesh adds shimmer, and slender gold candlesticks topped with jewel-tone taper candles complete the space.

The Stairwell

The stairwell tree mirrors the main tree, but the crystal ornaments differ in shape. I was sure to cover the base upon which it sits in a jewel tone Christmas color palette, lending to a more cohesive design.

The staircase and stairwell ledge feature pine garland accented with sage leaves and gold deco mesh, forming a lush backdrop for large, bold gemstone ornaments, which look incredible when the light hits them. Pinecones finish the look.

The Hallway Table

My hallway side table played a more functional role this year with the addition of a cocktail and snack station. To bring in some jewel tone Christmas decor flair, I created an oversized floral arrangement using purple pinecone ornaments from the tree, set into an apothecary jar filled with purple, cerise, and teal ornaments.
On the other side, staggered-height apothecary jars hold sweet treats, a mirrored tray houses a few tasty libations, and garland at the back pulls everything together.

The Dining Room

This year, I used the table behind the bench for my glass trees, which made the perfect backdrop. The throw pillows unify my theme of a jewel tone Christmas, including all the colors.
On the table, a white velvet tablecloth and white dinnerware serve as the foundation for the pine garland, accented with sage leaves, pinecones, and gold deco mesh. A matching bow ties the space together, and jewel tone stemware in a multitude of colors adds to the festive feel. Lenox Color Gem candlesticks with white candles add shimmer and a little romance.
To fill an empty corner, I added a jumbo ornament installation made from beautiful onion-shaped ornaments to go with my a jewel tone Christmas theme. They hang from a gold chain with colorful rhinestones. A plant with up-lighting adds sparkle.

The Master Bedroom

As you can clearly see, there is no A Jewel Tone Christmas here. At my hubby’s request, our bedroom got a complete makeover—no more dark colors. He wanted light and bright—which I LOVE. I would have my house all in white if I could. I didn’t want to paint after refinishing all the furniture myself, so the layout and paint stayed the same.
The tree in here is fully flocked—soft, snowy, and simple. I added only light sage leafy picks for color and gold picks for shimmer. All the vertically shaped ornaments are silver, white, or crystal clear, bringing elegant sparkle without competing with the jewel tone decor elsewhere in the house.

Flocked picks and greenery flank all the lamps, matching wreaths hang on the doors, and large jumbo candles in cylindrical vases and lanterns fill the nooks. A bit of fur adds warmth and luxury.

The Entry
My entry is tiny—just 4 x 4 feet—so creating big impact in a small space can be tricky. I kept it simple and cohesive, using the same greenery that flows throughout the rest of the house. It sits on the bottom shelf of the entry table, while the top is styled with a simple boat tray filled with ornaments that match my a jewel tone Christmas color scheme, welcoming you the moment you walk in.
On the staircase, the same garland and jumbo gemstone ornaments I used in the stairwell make an appearance, greeting us with a festive reminder of the season every time we come home. See the video below and experience how beautifully the jumbo ornaments glow when they interact with the lights.

The Outdoors

I decorate the outdoors with as much intention as the inside—with a cohesive color scheme. This year, I would’ve loved to match the interior a jewel tone Christmas decor, but I wanted to stay on budget, so I used what I already had.
A few years ago, I found these beautifully lit ornaments during a Christmas in July sale. They were available in gold, silver and multi. I’ve used them in different ways over the years, but never together in their original colors—lime green, red, and turquoise. I added the gold, but you can see how the mix turned out this year. It looks stunning, especially at night.
The only thing I bought this year was ribbon to tie the outdoor decor together and match the rooftop finials above our boxed window. Ornaments in the same palette adorn the outdoor garland, and matching ribbon embellishes the gift-box Christmas tree. Take a look at the finished product below:

It was definitely a challenge pulling off my a jewel tone Christmas color scheme. I had to test so many combinations, edit things I loved but knew were too much, and sometimes use a little restraint—never my strong suit when I’m excited about a design. But after all the tweaks and second-guessing, I’m genuinely thrilled with how it turned out. It feels rich, intentional, and exactly the kind of holiday magic I was aiming for.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my A Jewel Tone 2025 Christmas Home Tour and my take on a jewel tone Christmas decor. To see more photos from this year’s A Jewel Tone Christmas and more of my other work, click here.

2024 Magical Cozy Winter Wonderland Home Tour

Happy Holidays Everyone!
I am so excited to share my 2024 Christmas Home Tour with you! This year, my living and dining room decor was inspired by a beautiful Christmas display my husband loved in a home decor store. I decided to run with his vision, but with my own spin on it. The result? A Magical Cozy Winter Wonderland.
The bedroom and outdoor decor were inspired by one simple ornament and a photo from Raz Imports, which reminded me of a comforter I had fallen in love with last year. My husband wasn’t sure about it then—but more on that later…
Table of Contents
The Living Room
What really caught my husband’s eye when we saw that display beyond the color was the wintery, cozy vibe. I knew I had to focus on texture and layering different materials to capture that feeling. Flocked trees and greenery became the base for this look.
This year, we brought our Christmas tree back to its usual spot by the boxed window, draped with fur blankets and velvety throw pillows to add texture and a cozy elegance.
Four main elements make up the look this year: rustic touches, elegant details, pops of color, and, of course, cozy warmth. Let’s dive deeper into each one.

The Rustic Elements
To bring in those rustic vibes, I used:
- Wood
- Burlap & Jute
- Natural Pinecones
- Basketry
I brought in wooden lanterns, placing them on and under the tree, and scattered them throughout the living room. These lanterns, along with a few candlesticks, a dough bowl, planter boxes, and a wooden clock above the fireplace, complete the cozy, rustic feel.
Baskets hold extra blankets, firewood, and throw pillows in the living room adding an additional layer of texture.
I also incorporated burlap and birch ribbon on the trees and wreaths throughout the house to keep things cohesive. And, no Christmas decor would be complete without pinecones—I’ve scattered them just about everywhere.

Elements Of Color
This year, I focused on a color palette of periwinkle, navy, silver, and white. The periwinkle came through in poinsettias, ornaments, and blueberry picks, which I used all over the house, and touches of navy add contrast to the otherwise monochromatic color scheme.

The Elegant Touches
I’ve always loved elegant design, and I wanted to infuse that into this year’s decor. Crystal ornaments on the tree and luxurious fur and velvet fabrics throughout the space helped bring that vision to life.

Warm & Cozy
Candles are everywhere—on the fireplace, coffee table, and even lining the stairs. They add a cozy glow that totally transforms the space, especially at night. Plus, the soft textures of a fur rug, blanket, and velvety pillows contribute to the warm and cozy vibe.

The Fireplace
This year, our fireplace is a little more understated, but still elegant. I swagged a flocked cedar and blueberry garland in an asymmetrical design across the mantel.
Knitted fur stockings with fur trim hang alongside oversized glass hurricanes holding jumbo candles, and silver glass trees add a touch of sparkle. The rustic wooden clock in the background contrasts beautifully with the silk wallpaper and other elegant elements.

The Stairwell
The tree in the stairwell is similar to the main tree, but with a few playful crystal ornaments. Each one represents a holiday movie we watch every year, or a cherished Christmas memory. I replaced the large lanterns from the main tree with smaller metal ones, and once again, included pinecones and blueberries to tie the space together.

The Hallway Table
I had to find a place to display my glass trees and I did that in the hallway this year. I used a mix of clear, silver, and white trees. The clear trees are made from recycled glass adding the green tinge that comes through in the photos. I added some more cedar garland with blueberies to tie it in with the living room.

The Dining Room
This year, I went with a wintery vibe in the dining room. White, silver, and wood tones dominate, with just a touch of periwinkle and gold. The down-swept trees give the room a soft, snow-kissed look, and the deer on the surfaces add to the festive wintery feel. To keep the cozy vibe going, I added the same velvet pillows from the living room window seat and sofa.

The Master Bedroom
This room came together after a series of happy little accidents (As Bob Ross would say LOL). Last year, I fell in love with a duvet cover I saw on QVC, but my husband wasn’t sure about it. I let it go, but then, while shopping holiday sales in July, I saw an ornament (I made some alterations) with a similar color scheme, and something clicked. Then, I found a photo in a Raz Imports holiday catalog that sealed the deal. I was meant to design the room around this duvet!
Though the duvet cover I wanted was sold out, I was lucky enough to find one in a different size on eBay. I made it work, and I’m so pleased with how it turned out!

I repeated the colors and patterns from the duvet cover in wreaths, ribbon on the tree, and added plenty of blueberries and pinecones to tie it back to the living room design. Glass and crystal ornaments added that touch of elegance I love.

The Kitchen
This year, I added a fun touch in honor of my husband’s childhood love of trains. One Christmas, I gifted him this Polar Express Train Set, which became a make-him-laugh Christmas gift. To celebrate, I set up a little village on our breakfast nook table with wooden houses, glass trees, and deer, along with wreaths and greenery for a festive touch.
In the alcove, I displayed more glass trees, with an A-frame house taking center stage, topped with a wreath to complete the scene.
I finished the entire space with a wreath over my kitchen sink and a garland with pinecones and blueberries over the hood. I don’t enjoy cooking, but it sure makes being in that kitchen a lot more fun.

The Outdoors
I decorate the outdoors just like I do inside—thoughtfully and with a cohesive color scheme. This year, I matched the master bedroom’s palette: navy, teal-green, and gold, with just a touch of silver and white. I draped garland along all the railings, framed the front door with it, and even accented our boxed window. The result feels festive and ties the whole look together!

2023 Magical Christmas Home Tour

Season’s Greetings Everyone!!! It’s that time of year again and I hope you enjoy my 2023 Christmas Home Tour. This year, my decor was inspired by the Swarovski Christmas Tree (seen below) located in Zurich, Switzerland some years ago and it was covered with clear crystals.
But…
I wanted a little color…
Winterberry & Pinecones In Ice Décor
When I saw that tree, I knew I wanted some color and a somewhat natural look. After researching images of winterberry covered in ice, I found my inspiration. I used my tried and true staple—pinecones (not to mention they’re either cheap or free) and to get that pop of color I bought a ton of berry branches, also 99% of the ornaments I used are clear glass/crystal, and vertically shaped. Again this year, I used magnolia leaves but added some lighter vivid greenery to create depth, dimension, and texture. I absolutely love how it turned out. I got just the right balance of nature, elegance, and color, not to mention…sparkle.
Decorating For Christmas With Winterberry, Pinecones & Crystal

Decorating The Living Room
Since I’ve lived in my current location, I’ve always put my tree next to the window but this year, I wanted to try something a little different so that someone entering the living room would see the tree as soon as they got to the top of the staircase landing. I also wanted to try a garland over our boxed window and I thought it would be too much to have the garland so close to the tree and that decision ended up balancing out the room nicely.

Our fireplace took center stage again this year with the addition of a pair of majestic deer and trees which I absolutely LOVE. Some love Santa, and some collect snowmen, but deer and trees are my thing which you will see just about everywhere. I tried changing out my starburst mirror with another piece of artwork but in the end, I liked it better and decided to keep it in addition to the pine branches. I added some berries to that as well to continue with the theme and put them in a clear glass vase filled with water beads.

I also have another tree in my stairwell, and I found that last year, it competed a bit too much with the ornate garland on the stair rail. So, this year, instead of installing garland on the stair rail, I lined it along the staircase stringer wall, included my pinecones and red berries, and added red candles in a matte and glitter finish to add that pop of color.

While the tree in the stairwell is similar—it includes icicles as well, I added other crystal ornaments that had sentimental value to my family that were not necessarily vertically shaped. Each ornament on the tree represents a movie we traditionally watch every Christmas, or others represent a Christmas memory from our childhood. It makes me smile every time I look at that tree because so many warm and cherished memories come flooding back. Can you guess what movies or TV shows these ornaments represent?

Adding Sparkle To The Dining Room
I continued with the same theme in the dining room, ensuring that I repeated the colors and elements from the living room in the table accessories and on the buffet and side tables. Instead of garland as I have always done, I created floral arrangements for each space.

On the table, I did a display with my collection of glass trees, and above, the chandelier is covered with garland, winterberry and pinecones, and dripping with icicle ornaments in various lengths. When the candles are all lit and the lights are down the atmosphere is stunning.

Creating In The Kitchen
I did a little more in my kitchen this year, I moved some furniture around and now my window view is not blocked. I set my round table with white linens, filled my glass apothecary jars with clear water beads to represent ice, and added a simple red rose, calla lily, and pinecone floral arrangement as my centerpiece.
In the alcove, I displayed some more of my glass trees and a small collection of glass houses and used some evergreen trees (they’re actually decorative swags) as the backdrop, and topped it with a wreath. Those wreaths are on every interior door in my house.

I hope you enjoyed my 2023 holiday tour. To see more of the photos taken this year, click here. Until next time, I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season and a fantastic 2023 and beyond.

2022 Christmas Home Tour

Happy Holidays everyone. It’s that time of year again—my favorite time of year, and I hope you enjoy my 2022 Christmas Home Tour in a color scheme of shades of green this time around.
Shades Of Green Christmas Décor
I usually start getting ideas for what my theme will be in the previous year (Usually while decorating for Christmas), and I refine them by exploring home décor magazines and Pinterest. I generally start shopping in July. This year, I knew I wanted to go with green, but when I couldn’t decide what shade, I thought, why not go with all or various shades? What I ended up with is a beautiful monochromatic palette, and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

The Living Room
Our fireplace along with the Christmas tree is the major focal point at Christmas. I love this garland, but I wanted it to have a different look and feel from what I designed last year. This year, I used magnolias, greenery, ornaments, and jumbo along with smaller gemstones to create the prime focus. When I started, I did not have a plan per se, I worked with pieces that I owned and bought because I love them, and I’m thrilled with how they all came together.
A starburst mirror along with my collection of glass trees in complementary colors and angels creates the backdrop and brings the entire focal point together.

In addition to the fireplace, every horizontal, diagonal, and vertical surface is decorated with garland or wreaths, and I tied them into the fireplace by using the same ornaments, gemstones, magnolias, ribbon, and one of my favorite things to use at Christmas—pinecones.

On every stair rail post, I designed beautiful swags that matched the décor on the fireplace mantle. And this year, I decided to put my second tree at the base of the stairwell. What I ended up with is a cohesive space where all the different features in the room complement each other despite the fact that some are slightly different in style. For example, the tree in the living room and the tree in the stairwell are decorated completely differently, but they work within the same space and I tied the two together by using the same treetop.

The Dining Room
In the dining room, I continued with the same theme, ensuring that I repeated the colors from the living room in the table accessories, on the garland, and on the buffet and side tables.

Other Spaces
Entry
The entry to our house is tiny (Approximately 4 x 4 Feet), but I still managed to give it its share of Christmas cheer by using an extremely narrow table in the space. Lanterns are used throughout and again, I decorated the garland on the stair rail to match the one on the fireplace and the other railings throughout the house. Tabletop trees and deer are my weakness and I got the opportunity to use the golden pair here along with a flocked downswept tree.

Kitchen
I didn’t go crazy in my kitchen, but I did want to find a way to use my wooden houses and my collection of mercury glass items. I chose to use the cubbies on the shelf for the mercury glass and staggered the wooden houses on the shelf top to create a little village of sorts. I love the rustic feel. On the table in front, I added a green tablecloth with a small vignette of mercury glass, greenery, and candles to complete the space.

I hope you enjoyed this year’s holiday tour. You can see all the photos taken this year here. Until next time, I wish you and yours a happy holiday season and a wonderful 2023 and beyond.

My First Christmas Home Tour ~ 2021

Happy Holidays everyone. As promised, here it is. I hope you will enjoy my very first home tour for Christmas 2021.
When I decided that I would do my first home tour to share with you, I could have never imagined what this venture would snowball into. I started out just wanting to share, but as I post this, it’s looking like come next year I’ll be turning this into a business doing holiday decorating, but, I digress.
Navy Christmas Décor
No two years are alike at my house when it comes to Christmas decorating and this year, I chose to go with an elegant theme and color palette of navy, gold, copper, silver, and brown.

I usually start getting ideas for what my theme will be in the previous year and I refine them by exploring home décor magazines and Pinterest. I usually start shopping in July. I’ve never seen this exact color palette anywhere (I’ve seen similar) but I decided to add the brown to pull in the color of the featured wall in our living room and I loved how it turned out.
The Living Room
We purchased a new fireplace this year, so along with our Christmas tree, I decided to make it a major focal point and I love the garland that I got. It was easy to put together, I managed to get the entire fireplace done in an afternoon.

In addition to the fireplace, just about every horizontal, diagonal, and vertical surface is dressed with garland or wreaths.

I tied the space together by using the same ribbon, mesh, ornaments, and pinecones that I used on the tree repeatedly throughout the house, especially on prominent areas like the banisters and stair rails.

The Dining Room
In the dining room, I continued the same theme with a second but smaller tree, ensuring that I repeated the colors from the living room in the table accessories and on the garland on the buffet and side tables.

The Master Bedroom
In our house, the only room with a non-neutral color on the walls is our master bedroom, so the color palette in this room is completely different from the main floor downstairs. I continued with the normal year-round color scheme in this room which is various shades of greens and browns with a pop of vermillion. I pulled all the colors from the rug.

I didn’t go crazy in this room, but I loved the simplicity of just a bit of garland and decorative vignettes and I’m happy with how it all turned out.

At night, the lights above the bed, create the most wonderful shadows creating a very romantic mood within the space.

Again, every horizontal space has some garland with something festive.
Just in case you couldn’t tell, I have an addiction to trees, reindeer, and glass—especially mercury glass. Most of those I’ve collected over the years, but every year, I add pieces to my collection that I either purchase or make. This year’s craft project included all the cone trees in the vignettes throughout the space.
I hope you enjoyed this holiday tour of our humble abode. Until next time, I wish you and yours a safe and happy holiday season and a wonderful 2022 and beyond.
